EHDC members represent democrats from all parts of eastern Hillsborough County. The club’s membership has grown dramatically as the eastern part of the county has increased in political diversity. Democrats have a strong presence in eastern Hillsborough, and we are motivated to increase our membership so we can better serve our communities in East Hillsborough. Be sure to introduce yourself at our next meeting!

Meet the East Hillsborough Democratic Club Officers
Andrew Vaughn, President
Drew grew up on a chicken and turkey farm in rural Illinois. He attended Augustana College where he ran Track and got a Bachelor’s degree in Swedish, English, and Political Science. He then went on to Loyola University Chicago School of Law and ultimately studied international law at Oxford University. As a lawyer Drew made partner by 30, was a Professor of Law, and was named one of the Top 10 lawyers in Illinois. He then sold his firm and retired from law at 38.
Drew also has an MBA in Marketing/Strategy from Notre Dame and studied data analytics at MIT. After selling his law firm, Drew founded a marketing company. That company has now won Ad of the Year twice, has been named one of the 5 Most Innovative marketing agencies in the United States, and Drew has been named one of the 100 Most Influential Marketers in the World.
He then went on to study cybersecurity, ultimately earning a ranking of being in the top 5% of hackers in the world. Using that background in law, business, marketing, and cybersecurity he then launched an Artificial Intelligence company here in Florida that is growing rapidly. He maintains an active presence in the Illinois State Bar Association and was the primary drafter of Illinois’ artificial intelligence policy.
Drew is actively involved in the community as the President of the PTA at his kids’ school, on the Board of the Florida PTA, with the Brandon Chamber of Commerce, and with a variety of nonprofits.
Chris Radulich, Vice President
Chris moved to Florida in 2005 with his wife Susan. He became involved with the democrats right away and has been Vice President of the EHDC since 2013.
Chris is a graduate of Old Westbury SUNY where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Sciences and Support Services. He also attended Farmingdale State College where he received Associate’s Degrees in Industrial Electronics and Business Administration and Management.

Janet Molen, Secretary
Janet not only is she our amazing secretary, she is also a member of the Democratic Women’s Club of SE Hillsborough County. Her favorite quote is “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” -Elanor Roosevelt
Janet is a former Acquisitions Librarian, but is now retired. She studied at University of South Florida , where she earned her Master’s Degree in Library Science. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in History at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
Janet is enjoying retirement and was married for nearly fifty years to her husband Bruce. They have two children and 5 grandchildren and enjoys spending time with them. She also likes golf, reading, and staying politically active.
Mary Sheppard, Publicity Director
Mary has been the Publicity Director for both the EHDC and the Democratic Women’s Club of SE Hillsborough County for a while. Her service to our clubs and her ongoing dedication to democracy and making Florida a better place to live for all people is an amazing example for us all.
Mary studied at the University of South Florida and worked as a Supervisor for GTE/Verizon for almost 30 years. After she left that job, she served as a substitute teacher for Hillsborough County Public School. Now Mary is retired, but still stays active in the community.
She has been married for over 50 years to her husband Bill. She loves people and would like to see everyone get along and believes that can happen if we stop worrying about what everyone else is doing and try to improve ourselves. She enjoys spending time with friends and family and staying up to date on current events.
Emmit Walthall, Sergeant at Arms
Emmit is a transplant from New York and now lives in the Riverview area. He is an experienced Realtor and has helped numerous clients secure their dream homes and numerous others sell their property. He has been working with Home Express Realty for about 10 years.
Prior to his interest in real estate, he was a Conductor for the NYC Transit Authority. He also studied at the Borough of Manhattan Community College.
Emmit has been married since 2018. He enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and a good cigar. He is also a grill master and you can verify that by attending one of our annual picnics!
Susan Radulich, Assistant Treasurer
Susan lived in Massapequa NY prior to moving to Apollo Beach in 2005. She has been with the EHDC since 2009 and on the board since 2011.
